The Summer Food Program starts Thursday, May 30; 11-1pm.
- Mission Statement -
We strive to provide meals to area kids in a clean, safe environment
Summer Food Program ladies welcome you to come have lunch this summer! FREE fresh hot lunches are served on Tuesday and Thursday each week to any child aged 0-18 years. No paperwork to fill out and no income guidelines to worry about! All area children are welcome to participate.
All meals are served in to go containers for your convenience. Each meal served contains an entree, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a dessert/ treat. Each child also receives a bonus sack lunch complete with entree that can be eaten heated or cold, snacks, and a drink. Summer Food Program is the joint effort of local volunteers and area businesses working together for a better future for our youngest citizens. All funding for the Summer Food Program is through area sponsors and donations. Each summer for the past five years, Summer Food Program has provided over 2,500 meals. Summer Food Program ladies from L-R: Jennifer Bienemann, Donna Clowers, Becky Brannan (Program Coordinator), Beth Smith, and Leann Knight. Missing from photo: Danita McCain and Becky Howland. |
Kid friendly entrees are featured in each of the menus. These meals help fill the void during summer months for children who otherwise would be missing out on daily nutrition while school is out for the summer months.
